At 24 Jiu Jitsu Caerphilly, our students’ safety and wellbeing always come first. Jiu Jitsu is about more than training — it’s about trust, respect, and growing together. This policy is here to make sure every child feels safe, supported, and welcome on the mats.

If you ever have a worry about a child, or if a child wants to talk about something, Kai is the person to go to.
Every coach working with kids has an Enhanced DBS check.
We complete safeguarding training to stay up to date on how to protect and support our students.
Parents are always welcome to watch classes.
Physical contact is part of learning martial arts, but it’s always done respectfully and only when needed for teaching.
We treat every child with fairness and respect, no matter who they are.
Our club is fully insured through BMABA (British Martial Arts & Boxing Association).
Any concern about a child’s safety will be taken seriously.
We’ll write down what happened, keep it private, and if needed we’ll pass it to Children’s Social Care or the Police to keep the child safe.
If a parent or child feels they cannot speak with the club directly, concerns can also be raised with BMABA via their safeguarding team:
👉 Report a concern to BMABA
We check our mats and training area to make sure they’re safe.
A qualified First Aider is always at hand during classes.
We keep children’s details (like medical info and emergency contacts) safe and only use them to look after the child while they’re training.
Our safeguarding approach works alongside the BMABA National Safeguarding Policy, which you can view here:
